Besides cpu heat, could someone tell me what would make my system unstable at 112mhz fsb out of these devices:

k6-2 450
VA-503+
128 Crucial PC133 ECC
Maxtor 8.4g
Seagate 1.7g
Voodoo3 2000
SBLIVE

I still get a few ipfs here and there even at stock speed!

Do you have the newest bios? I have the FIC VA503+ with bios version JE438, flash file date is 03-10-2000......and my K6-2 450 AHX 2.4v ran at 5.0x112fsb @ 560Mhz with 2.7 volts, with cas2 PC100 sdram.....Win98 ran great.

Unless your using SERIOUS cooling ( I used water cooling), your getting the cpu too hot with the higher FSB + extra voltage required to push it there :-).

If you do go with water cooling.......do not skimp on the pump, if it stops running when your using the computer, there's only a few seconds before the cpu overheats....I had that happen.

The newest bios is JE439, which I have.
My chip is the AFX(2.2v) and I have a RDJD K601 hs/fan with thermal paste. I have the chip at 500 now, and it never goes past 36c when playing CounterStrike.
