From what I've seen so far. The documentation is pretty straight forward on most of the manufacturers sites. Read it/Print it/Follow it. http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif
Its really not that hard to do, even if you haven't played around with your computer before.
Check your Board manufacturers website and either search for BIOS or they should have it in their list of paths.

I have been trying to update my BIOS as well but haven't made much progress. Perhaps somebody here can help me out.
I have an Acer V58XA mainboard with BIOS V3.0 R04-F0-B0 dated 5/20/98. I was thinking about updating it, so I went to the Acer ftp site and looked for my specific mainboard. I found a folder named "V58" with a BIOS update R01-G0-1X.
My question is this: Will the BIOS update for the V58 mainboard work with my V58XA board? Is there a real difference between the V58 and V58XA mainboards?
Thanks

I jumped to the ACER page (Which is a joke) and did a little snooping. Try this link ftp://ftp.acer.com/aac_support/server/
Then go into the MISC folder, and open the index. They have all their files listed for the machines they operate. Find your system and match the flash/BIOS update.
They should have instructions as well. Post if that helped any
