Ok, I finally got my system stabilized at 500 Mhz running an 83 Mhz FSB. My original system was a 266 K6, but I put in a 400, used the 2x/6x remap, and overclocked my FSB. The machine is rock-solid except for one thing--my Diamond Monster MX300 REFUSES to run if my FSB is above 66. The entire machine will freeze upon running Quake II or any game.
Now ordinarily I'd think this was my PCI bus responding to being overclocked--except my PCI bus is asynchronous from the FSB. Sandra and my motherboard manual both confirm that my PCI slots automatically adjust their own clock divider in order to remain at 33 Mhz.
Is there any way I can fix this? I've got an onboard sound card that works ok, but I'd really prefer my Diamond Monster Sound back.
