I just purchased the Abit KA7-100 mobo and a Athlon 750 processor. Now I need a good heatsink/fan combo. I will probably OC it later, but right now its not my main concern. I want to keep it Coooooool. Love to keep my hardware running as cool as possible. I was going to swing by 3dfxcool.com. They have always done me right with my PII's in the past--but i know there are better prices out there.

This probably won't help you, but it was interesting enough to me to make me want to share it :-)

I just got my first Athlon too. It's a "step-thermodynamics" 550 OCed to 650. It has an interesting fan setup. Resting against the slug is a copper plate that is almost as large as the processor. Attached to that are two 1" thick heatsinks. On each heatsink are two low-profile fans seperated by a 3/4" spacer. This setup has 4 fans! I can't wait to try it, I bet it says cool.

Can anybody here tell me more about "step-thermodynamics"? This is my first Athlon, and don't know squat about them. Can it be OCed above 650???

Soopa, I hope this dosn't qualify as "crapping on your thread". LMK and I'll remove it if you want.
