My friend bought this combo for $300 when he was building his new system, but then he stopped and decided not to complete his system, and now he is selling his parts. He will sell me this for about $150, me being an overclocking freak and the lust for a server for my network, can't resist this deal. So no matter what anyone says here I will get it. But I am just wondering what sort of overclocking potential this combo might have.

I was going to have it be the server in my next LAN party, but if I can't get my computer working, I'll have to use this instead.

I would say that 498 (83*6) would be a good possiblity. I would shoot for 564 (94*6), as the 94mhz bus is the crossever point for dividing the PCI and AGP bus's close to defualt.
A few 400's will do 600 (100*6), but this is rare. You will need excellent cooling and a great deal of luck. Many people get one cpu to boot at 600, but the other fails. The sockets have independant voltage control, so you might make it. Also be sure to check the size of any heatsink/fan combo's that your interested in. The BP-6 is limited for room, and you will not be able to fit the larger Global-Win or Alpha coolers on it.
Good Luck,

Hey Rob, do you have any suggestions for a good heatsink+fan I could use for them? I also hear that they need a pretty hefty power supply, like 300 watts. I think I could get them to go to 498 if I can find some PCI and AGP cards that will tolerate it.
If the Bus speed is 83 then the AGP will run at that speed too, and the PCI will run at half that, or 41.5 and I don't think this motherboard has dividers. I think that Dual 450's would be more of a possiblility.
And one more thing, does anyone know when Windows ME is comming out and if it will support multi-processors?
Thanks,
FrozenLiquidity

I have a bp6 for cooling you might want to check out the "Golden Orbs"- takes a slight mod to get them to fit but very good performance. More info is available at www.bp6.com (http://www.bp6.com) on cooling, OCing, just about anything and everything bp6 related

bp6 rocks..

Looks like gene1938 beat me to it, but bp6.com is probably the best reference available for bp-6 owners. They have info on cooling, performance, and even stablity.
BTW, I would go for that 300watt PS. You now need to supply power to two cpu's and fans. Add in case fans, a few drives, and a decent video card, and you will really need that wattage.
BTW, I'm heading over to your post at Tech Support. I don't hit that forum too often,
so I didn't catch it.
Good Luck,

Thanks Rob, I will greatly appreciate any information that may help me solve this problem.
And thanks for the link gene1938, I guess if ths mobo has it's own website, it must be good.
Right now for cooling I think I will wait for the ArtiCooler to be released for retail sale. It beat out all other Socket 370 coolers that were tested over at HardOCP, here's the link if you want to check it out http://www.hardocp.com/reviews/cooling/arctic_ca/index.html
Thanks

RobRich, 92 is the crossover point. Also, YOU set the AGP divider to either 1/1 or 2/3, its not automatic, but the PCI is. Once you hit 92 FSB it cuts to 1/3, but not once you hit 94. Also, FrozenLiquidity, Win ME will NOT support multiprocessors, its basically Win98 with a facelift and a couple new features like Win98 is Win95 with a facelift. It's still DOS based, its just DOS is hidden much better.
