Right the question is.

Which is better the BE6-2 or the BF6. I know that the BE6-2 has UDMA66 on board, but I have a Promise Ultra66 card too.

The BF6 is cheaper, so would be my choice, but is it as good for OCing??

i just got a cel2 566 and bf6, flashed the bios to the most recent one available, and am running rock solid at 825 at 1.6v, still a little shakey at 850, but i am not taking the voltage higher til i get a bigger heatsink...using an abit slotkit3 as well...gotta say i love it...

Well the cooling is the thing I have sorted already. I have a golden Orb from termaltake.com, or a peltier cooler from computernerd.com etc.

So hopefully no worries on the cooling, just gotta choose a board.

unless you need the onboard ata66 controller go with the bf6, it was a snap to setup, and has been very stable.

Watch Peltiers with the Coppermines, don't want to crack the core on a potential 1 gig processor...BF6 is nice, money you save on it you can buy a Promise ATA66 controller and throw it in that extra PCI slot you get with the BF6...fantastic performance!

Uh, I'd pass on the BF6 if you are buying a new board. Take a look at the boards running the Via 133 chipset with 4x AGP and UDMA66. With the latest drivers, the VIA chipset is doing well against the BX, and the Via based boards are usually pretty cheap. Some of them also allow you to run your ram and your cpu at different bus speeds.

If your bus will be at 100-133+, I recommend the Via chipset boards. If you may be in the 90-100 range, then the Softmenu III boards are the best choice. But I'd get the BE6-2 if I wanted Softmenu III.

Good luck, and don't sweat it too much, there are alot of great boards out there.

Duh, I just reread your post, you already have the Controller card.

I guess the BF6 would do the job just fine.

But I still like the Via chipset boards, especially if you will be overclocking a Coppermine.
