just got pissed about being overcharged for a zm6, so i took it back and returned it...went elsewhere and got a bf6 for $15 less than the cost of the zm6...at the same time i got an abit slotkit3 and a celeron2 566...
went home and put it all back together with no problem (and no reinstall of windoze!!)

anyway, i immediately started to see how high i could go with it!
i have gotten it to run at 850, but with no stability, only enough to benchmark and see that it blows anything i have ever used out of the water. unfortuneately it reboots soon after...
even at 566 it is much faster than i expected...but since i can run with 75fsb at stock, and have only started to mess around with other speeds i am happy so far...
anyone else use this combo? any tweaks, settings andd so forth that improve things? the ram is already at CAS 2...also will flashing the bios help? i have a bios from late last year, and i notice that there is a recent bios update...

I would go for the BIOS update. Abit has addressed several compabilty/stablity issues with the Celeron-II with their newest BIOS releases.

You might have to bump the voltage slight to get it stable at 100mhz FSB. You should be able to go 1.65v without any prob.

Also, when going for stablity, start with a memory CAS setting of 3. Then only attempt 2 if everything seems to be working correctly.

thanks rob

question about the ram latency...is that ram dependant or cpu dependant? the ram i am using has worked at speeds of up to 124 fsb with no problem at cas2...i don't quite understand that relationship...

I think you could just watch the temps and push more juice to it. Hopefully that will take care of the stability issues. The RAM like the cpu is an individual chip thing, just try it both at 2 & 3 and see which works out.

i flashed my bios and am running at 850@1.6v right now, cas is at 3, but will try 2 soon...yay!!!

What revision are you using?
I tried umm QV I think it was..whatever the new one is, and it was pretty unstable, then again, it may have been the heat, it was hot that week. http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif I've got my 566@920, 1.8v.
2 2 2 memory settings too...I think I can only get 850 with about 1.65 v, Its been a while, what week chip did you end up with?

i never even looked to see what week it was...i am using the rv bios, i think it was out last month. so far it has been awesome. i am leery of trying for higher, since 850 is not totally stable, i know i need better cooling...
