WHAT ARE THE BEST ("ESSENTIAL") APPS
AN OVERCLOCKER NEEDS, RELATING 2 BENCHMARKING, OPTIMISING-VIDEO&CPU, ETC.

I HAVE A PII 300Mhz, ANY SUGGESTIONS PLEASE.

SiSoft Sandra - benchmarking, mobo info, etc.

Rain / waterfall / CPU Idle - OK if you do not run RC5 / SETI. They reduce CPU activity at idle, this reducing the idle temp.

3DMark99/2000max from madonion.com - 3D graphics benchmark.

Some means of really stressing the system for a long time, like the SETI client, RC5 client or CPU Stability Test by Jouni Vuorio (can email the proggie - 750k). These use 100% CPU for as long as you want to run them.

Quite a lot of people here use motherboard monitor.
