I'm looking at an ACER 4x4x32 CD Burner. It's an IDE version with 2 MB cache.
I haven't heard much about ACER burners. How good / reliable are they?

This one's made from Japan I believe. *Made in Japan/Canada/USA/Germany" - that's what counts. I tend to believe that products coming from these countries are of high quality. *Made in Mexico/Vietnam/Hong Kong* - that's buyer beware (caveat emptor). That's just my opinion. One warning though - make sure you don't get a drive that has slow spin-up speed as my RICOH 6x/4x/24x burner. The initial motor spin-up speed is terrible, about 10-15 seconds. So watch out! Plucky Duck jad1097 02-09-2000, 07:47 PM I bought a 4x4x32 Acer burner at the after Thanksgiving day sale for $100 new! I think it is a great burner. read this before you buy one though. Might save you a few bucks. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/Forum10/HTML/000351.html [This message has been edited by jad1097 (edited 02-09-2000).] Brian48 02-10-2000, 09:14 AM Never had a problem with my 6206a. It's alittle slow seeing as it's a x2x2x6, but it's never failed me. Besides, it's cheap. Gomer 02-10-2000, 09:37 AM 6206a here as well and it works like a charm. SysOpt.com
