I'm not tryin' to stir anything up, but I do want everybody to know what kind of a person I really am. I've got nothin' to hide.
Those who are weary to do business with me better check this out as you'll become even more weary...
Daveleau and Izzzy12k - you guys gotta check this out, betcha didn't know this before.
Tell me how much I've changed guys.
I know, I know, I was a real jerk back then.
"He still is" - a voice from somewhere says..
Give me a report card for the end of the year, since this coming March is going to be my first birthday with you guys...
Here's the Links guys:

There's also one more post I really want to show you guys titled "I fried my celery, and got another one for free!".
SYSOPT - can you dig that one up? That'll really show you how bad I am. That was the KING of all posts back then.
Sorry guys, I forgot how to do those html tags to get the links working. My brains gettin' rusty...
Anyways, enjoy...^_^...hehehe...
Ok, found it. The KING is here (no, I don't mean Elvis)...

REMEMBER: this is just for laughs, so don't take it too seriously.
Have fun reading it guys/gals.
Of course, I'm not into that kind of practice no more.

If you wanna drag your old problems up go right ahead............Plucky why do you feel you have to act like that...do you need attention that bad? http://www.sysopt.com/forum/frown.gif
I wasn't around back then, why did the admin put up with such threads (profanity, threats, insults, trolling)? I mean you guys do a top notch job now, but geez...I hope I never read anything like that again.

No no guys, don't get me wrong here.
I'm not dying for attention, I've got enough of that BS.
Its just a flashback of my year here.
Even I'm surprised @ how much I've changed and view things in life now, especially since after my very dear grandpa past away last year...

i've only been using this bbs for a couple months, and i've missed most of your good comments, but now reading your little flasbacks has made me come to the conclusion that you are by far coolest person on this whole board, in fact, i wish i were you, plus your not american, and that is ALWAYS good (not that there's anything wrong with be a yank) hahahahaha

To tell you the truth, I'm not that happy with what I did back in the early days as a junior, I'm really ashamed of myself for that.
In no way am I trying to promote this kind of BS from ever happening again.
Since yesterday was Chinese New Year, and I'm Chinese, I thought it be somewhat of a good idea to do a flashback of what I did wrong and what I could do better in the coming year.
You know those new year's resolutions you guys make up @ the beginning of every year, well that's kinda like what I'm doing right now.
The language in the threads are very inappropriate, so if you feel offended please go elsewhere, otherwise be my guest.

PD, I was here then & remember those, and you HAVE changed.
From an arrogant little !@#$% to a fairly likeable eccentric nut! http://www.sysopt.com/forum/biggrin.gif
And you FINALLY learned to use the "general" forum instead of putting EVERYTHING in "overclocking" http://www.sysopt.com/forum/Forum3/HTML/000950.html
Any way, your off the wall stuff kept me coming back to see what was said next.
Rereading those now, I see a couple of now-banned names critisizing you. Guess you won, huh.
Didn't see much of you for several months, guess your memory was better then. Of course, I refer to your statement: I may forget to take my medicine every once in a while, but...

You keep it interesting, I'll say that!

Big difference compared to your response in this recent one ! http://www.sysopt.com/forum/Forum3/HTML/003794.html
I've rambled enough, but you DID ask for someone to

And I registered about the same time as you did!

Ed - hehe...I feel kinda bad for flaming KiethV 'cause in the end I never did help the poor guy out. Look on the bright side, @ least he didn't fry his celery like I did.
"Just realized that's TWICE I've encouraged him!! Somebody slap me!" - how do you mean?
Yeah, I've finally grown old enough to find out what the hell General Discussions were forr, duh.
Who, me?
Me, Plucky Duck, arrogant?
I guess I was, wasn't I?
"Put a big magnet over that **** thing, and kading!, you're done your formatting job.

Yup, that's my best tech advice I've ever given to anyone. Still stand by it today, hehehe...
Ed - you haven't changed much have you?
Was a computer nerd, still is, and always will be a nerd, just like me. Xcept I'm way good lookin'. Its nice to know someone still shares and enjoys my *pathetic* oddball sense of humour around here.

Apostle - if all you care about is how other people around the net are going to judge us, which might be in the hundreds of millions of people, then you've got too much worryin' and too little sleepin'. I don't wanna have to watch my back afraid someone's gonna laugh at me everytime I go out shoppin' or somethin' 'cause they think I dress like an oddball, you get what I'm sayin?
No please don't try to ruin this thread and just have fun.

hehe well that was quite a history lesson.
PD your desire to turn over a new leaf is admirable. I think Ed_S summed up the change the best http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif
However, what I find most entertaining is the fact that Scott and Joel used ****expletives deleted**** in their posts. Ahhh those heady fin de siècle days http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif

My girlfriend wanted to go out and grab a bite somewhere when I got home from work. I told her 'sure', and while she was getting ready(who gets 'ready' to grab a burger?) I figured I'd do a little lurking. By the time she got out of the bathroom I couldn't hardly stop laughing to tell her to just pop a pizza in the oven. Great stuff!
I've been registered for a few months...and from what I've just read, the Duck isn't the only one who's done a little growing.

Funny how some of life's events will make you change your outlook.
One thing I was suprised at, though, was that you didn't jump all over the couple of users that were basically preaching "god and devil" to you. Honestly, I was waiting for you to really unload on them for presupposing their beliefs/"morals" upon you, especially given your penchant for 'fanning the flames'.
I guess you were too focused on misspelled words to notice! hahahaha http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

Hey raz, sorry if I ruined your date with your girlfriend. She wasn't too upset, was she??
U-96, now that i come to think of it, I guess I must've pressed their buttons pretty hard to get that kind of response from Scott and Joel.
I guess royal jerks like me really did deserve the royal treatment way back then. I pretty much flamed everybody, didn't I?
wyvrn - yeah, there are a few things in life that will forever change your life. All I have to say is for everybody to be grateful of what they have in front of them, their friends and family. Family should come 1st no matter what. The fact that noone is going to be by your side forever should make you value their existence and each other's company that much more. I miss my grandpa, he's the most caring and loving grandpa I've ever come to love. Nothing can come between us. I do hope that he would never have to experience the same pain and suffering that he's been thru this lifetime.
I love you grandpa,
Chi

izzzy12k - *Dead Duck* its funny now that you mention it. Nobody here's called me that for a long long time.
Well, I proved you guys wrong didn't I?
Yup, I'm still live and well.
You wanna be me as much as I wanna be you.
That's what makes us unique as an individual.
Otherwise we'd all be a bunch of wanna-be's.
Hey izzy, guess what?
You've just made contact with me!
I'd thought you'd never talk to me again.
Now that you've read my links and know me better, have you changed your mind and actually thought that you're better off that the trade didn't between us didn't go thru?
I think your concern of having sent me the $$$ and never to see the daylight of 'em is very justified given my past behaviour. I would've doubted you too if the situation were to be reversed. So I don't see that as you attacking my character. Its just a normal reaction, I totally understand.
$200 *spoof* - gone. I'd be really pissed too.

Hey plucky, have you decided having L2 cache is a good thing yet, or do you still like that clasic 486 feeling?
plucky duck
02-09-2000, 09:12 PM
Oh yeah, forgot all about the L2 cache debate. Yeah, the odds were like a billion-to-one that I'd win over the argument.
You know what, the thing is that I'm not a first-person Quake3/UT kind of guy so how many FPS I get in games is not all that important. I'm more into emulation stuff and racing games than anything else. What matters most to me is fillrate. Emulators need very high fill rates to run decently. Bleem is one example.
I do know NOW that L2 cache is important, but not that important way back then as to pay a $300 difference between a $450 PII-266 and a $140 Celeron 266. The price/performance ratio just doesn't add up.
$300 for 512k of 1/2 speed L2 cache, you must be kidding!
Look on the bright side, @ least the $300 I saved from back then is put into the purchase of my Geforce DDR right now. As they say, good things comes to those who wait...and wait...and wait...
