I heard on the radio the other day a website advertised as having a .cc instead of a .com. Went home, checked it out and sure enough it was there! Is it just a new extension to make more names available?

btw, the site was www.webn.cc (http://www.webn.cc) (local radio station)

There's an ad right on their page for a domain name service. It would *seem* that .CC is a new extention same as .com/.net/.org/.gov/etc. Why we haven't heard any news about the domain I just don't know.

I reckon you're right! I don't know how I missed the ad on their page. Ahh well. Thanks!

.cc is a new top level domain. The page to go to find out about them is www.spot.cc (http://www.spot.cc) . We have been hearing about it in Houston for a month as we got first dibs on the domains before they went nationwide. Dont think you'll get a domain you can resell, however, as almost any company name you can think of has been reserved already, before the cc domain went public. Seems the companies like IBM, microsoft, et all got smart on this one.

Now that I read the rest of the posts again, I am sure every city was told they had first dibbs lol. Who knows who is being honest at this point.
