I am upgrading to a PIII 700, what the heck is the difference between the flip chip and the standard PIII in a case. If the performance is the same, why would you pay more for the case. Does Intel support the flip chip?

they are identical in performance, only real difference is that the flipchip is cheaper, BUT you have to buy a slocket adapter, so they can actually be more expensive in the end. it's just personal opinion really, although some believe very strongly that SECC2 chips are more stable then FC-PGA chips with slocket adaptors.
