I really haven't set a budget. I sold my 300 and I was just wanting to get the largest I could fit in the emachine. I just started overclocking (my first was our computer at work). I'm just curious what the thing will clock up to, for experience.

We really need some more info about what you have and what it is you want to do before we can help you out.........

sorry about that, i meant to hit the post reply. This is in connection with me deciding whether to buy a 333 or 366 k6-2. I'm limited to 66,75,83, and 95 mhz. It is an emachine, which I am just messing with (new to overclocking and cheap).

Why not get a 400 and run it at 5x95 for 475 as I reckon it should make it or if you want to play safe get the 450 and it will 100% hit 475.
or.. 500 and run 83x2 (remapped at 83x6) and it will run at 500MHz (about that speed). This CPU does suck though, but if you dont' plan to overclock too much, this will do you. If you are an overclocker (hardcore, or soon to be) then get a 450, it's the best K6-2 CPU that overclocks hella good. Scotter got his at 600 with watercooling. http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif
oh yah, 95x6 is a possiblity too with proper cooling! it's not guaranteed, but remember, if you plan to OC, you can reach 571 with the K6-2 500. I had it at that speed at an incredible 2.2v! http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/biggrin.gif

Why not a 2.2v k6-2 500 (only a couple of more dollars than the 450) at 570 (95*6)? Remember that the k6-2 remaps the 2x multiplier to 6x, thus giving you a little more headroom. Just make sure to get a decent heatsink/fan and use an thin layer of thermal paste.
Good Luck,
Robert Richmond
PS - Looks like wtp beat me to this one.

Better check that m/b and bios out real good before you buy anything, my neighbors eMachine has an "extra special" one in it...

I just received a reply from emachine, in connection with my wanting to upgrade. The told me I'm limited to a 66 mhz bus speed, and that the highest I can go is a 366 (the 66 mhz version).
Will a 400 running at a lower than 100 mhz bus operate properly?
