I have a computer with a Biostar M6TL1 Mbd.
The CPU clock Speed Select(jp9) has a range from 66Mhz..68Mhz..75Mhz..83Mhz.It says 68,75 ,83 are overspec. So I'm assuming that it's ruuning at 66mhz. Now the CPU ratio select to acheive 400( fatory) the mutiplier should be
set at X6.5. It has available settings all the way up to X8.0. The Biostar web site indicated the board will support up to a 500Mhz. Do I just change the mutiplier to X7.5 as I did on my AMD to get to 350 from 300 without changing the bus speed or should I change the bus speed and vary the multiplier?? Seems like there's alot of options here, but which is the safest alternative??? any info greatly appreciated!

No the multiplier is locked at 6x on your celery so set the bus to 75 for 450 and 83 for 500. If you can try setting it to 100 for 600 which mine does with 2.3v. Good luck http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif.

Hey Brydon thanks for the reply. Will changing the bus speed affect things like Video, Audio cards and their performance??
Cause crashes, etc? What about RAM? Ihave 128Mb of PC100 installed. Just want to be safe than sorry, if you know what I mean http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif

If you go to the 75fsb you should be fine as it doesn't increase the pci or agp bus by much it is 83 that is the killer so go ahead and set it to 75 http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif.

Thanks Brydon: As soon as I get ready to do my network install, I'll sap it up to 75. That should give her 450 and about a 12% increase. Somethings better than nothing!!!
Thanks again http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/biggrin.gif
