Click to See Complete Forum and Search --> : Where can I put my last fan? ideas please!
I already put my case fan (80mm) in the slot for it on my generic PC Club case. But now I have an extra 80mm fan and I don't know where to put it. Any ideas of where I should rig it up? Maybe cut a custom hole in the side panel of the case or something of the sort? Any help would be appreciated.
Its a mid ATX tower by the way.

Tekk,
Since hot air rises, if you're going to put a hole anywhere for the fan...it should be in the top of the case and have the vent outwards. Of course, you'll need a finger guard!!
If you don't feel like drilling/cutting, then you can mount the fan at the top of the case and have it blow from front to back and use it as a "stirring" fan to create air "eddys" in those hard-to-cool areas (like between the PCI cards).
Just some thoughts...

I've got one in the top venting out and one in the bottom sucking in fresh air. Used an old 486 power supply fan guard for the top. Used a good pair of tin snips to cut the hole and cut some weather stipping to cover the cut edge. Applied a small amount of silicon to glue the rubber strip on.
Looks good. CPU runs 3C cooler with the case enclosed than with it off.
