Boot error

I am receiving the following error messages when I boot:

3F8H comm address conflict


I have tried Norton 2000 and McAfee 2000.

Please be explicit!!!

Did you have the Norton software set for the startup scan??? Usually fixes my problems.
Check in Msconfig/startup folder to see if it's checked. That's my $.02 Wish I could help you more.

I guess Win98 is booting, since you're applying Norton and McAfee to the problem. Does your floppy drive, hard drive, and com1 port (that's 3F8) work? First thing I'd check is MB BIOS settings for those devices.
