It's still slower than its potential, probably limited by the IDE interface itself. 0.3 milliseconds random access time is pretty slow to a computer, you should be able to get into the 20 nanosecond range with solid state...
Still veery exciting to see the first step being taken in this direction!
might i add that Quantum has had them for a little while now. their access time is .05 ms, for a mear $54,000 a piece for 3.2 gigs. start saving your pennies.
