My Cel 2 566 has hit 961 but is completely stable at 927. My Cel 2 533 has hit 906 but is completely stable at 898. I am thrilled with both of mine. I sold my P3 500 Kat and my Cel 366 at 525 for these chips and almost broke even. I highly recommend them for gaming and for home/ hobby use. For business, the P3 might have a slight edge but for the money, I'd still go for the Cel 2.

This is a post from earlier...
You can't beat the price. I'd say Cel 2 hands down with a Golden Orb (the cooler I am using on both of my Cel 2's. They can be gotten from millisec.safeshopper.com (http://millisec.safeshopper.com)
Good luck

dave: on your 533, what voltage are u using at 898? I have the same chip but the highest I can go up to is 840 @ 1.65. It doesnt run stable at 880 1.75v. I doubt that cooling is my problem becuase I have an alpha pep66. Do you think its my generic pc 100? Thanks.

I am using some generic PC100 as well with the voltage at 1.75 on my Abit BF6. I was suprised it got that high. It could be the ram but that is hard to tell w/o some other to test in it. I learned the hard way not to just upgrade ram in hopes of a better OC. I switched to PC133 for my P3 500 that I used to have and it made no difference. What slot converter are you using? I have only heard of great success fromt he Iwill and Abit slot converters. (Mine are both IWill's but there are others (Oblivion) that are getting good results w/ the Abit)

Dave, what cooling do you use?
Anyone got a Celemine 600? How are those things doing? I remember the first review we saw had one going at 1 gig didn't it?

Golden Orb on both CPUs. About to go to water cooling if this hdd problem I am having is not fsb speed related.

Hi folks, im currently running a celeron 333@495 (vcore 2.2) rock stable on my abit be6-2 (great mb), without any kind of cooling, but it's time for a cpu "upgrade" and my options are:
- Celeron2 566 or 600 ???
- P3 600E or 600E ???
What is the best deal for the buck (i'm running on 128 Pc133 generic ram)??
I've read a lot about these new celeron2 (new set of instructions + 0.18 + less power) hiting 850 - 900 (100 FSB) right out of the box (with cooling), is this so ???
But I also heard wonders of specially the P3 600E, and the 133 FSB helps a lot system performance, isn't it.
I'm tempted to go with the celeron (low budjet) and keep everything running under specs, is it possible to heat 100 FSB (or it depends on a good or less good Cpu serie)????
I'm going buy a goolden orb cooler, is it a good deal, how far can i go with standard cooling???
Thanks for any input

thanks for the input, my choice is made i'm going for a celeron 566 (is't there 2 versions of the 533 the old one, and the cel2 .18???) about 140 $ (here in Portugal), and the golden orb (well 2) is on the way http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif
thanks for the input

I too, have ordered a Golden Orb ready for my Cel2.
I hope to have the following setup real soon, well as soon as I can get a Celeron 566 in the UK.
Celeron 566 FCPGA OC'd to at least 850 (8.5x100 instead of 566, 8.5x66)
ABIT SlotKet III
ABIT BE6-2
Golden Orb Cooler.
Reckon that should do it??

Coco-
That should be a really nice setup. Good luck with it.
hmf-
The 533 does come in both varieties. The difference or way to tell is whether your system boots up recognizing it as a PIII or not. If it recognizes it as a PIII you have a Cel 2, if not...
Good luck guys!

The Celeron II 533 or 566 are both good choices as every report I've read reaches at least 100fsb. I think Oblivion was aiming for 133fsb with his 533 CeleronII!!! but I dont know if he managed it. I'd stay away from the Celeron 600 however as from what I've read they have some difficulty reaching 100fsb. I'd recommend the Golden Orb for cooling.
