Hey all. I want to get a k62 what ever speed, and a mobo, at a real low price, and be able to over clock it. this is very vague, but different combo, of chip, and CPU, will affect my over clocking. Any good combo's that are cheep. Anything is better than my current speed!

For the mobo, you should take tke p5a or the p5a-b from asus.
I have a p5a-b myself and it is very good for o/c'ing.
I heard that scotter's or someone else got his k6-2 500 running at 5x120.
And I believe it was one of those mobo's!!!!
Look around, the post is here somewhere.
It begins like "best k6-2 setup 5x120"

Hey Pim:
That was Otheos, you are talking about. He has an Epox G2, w/the 1mb cache, a fine board in it's own right. He uses Softfsb to boot at 112 and then bump it to 120.

Hey Akabruno,
thanks for the rectification, I wasn't sure who had posted it.
I guess I was a little confused with the other post, where 124FSB was reached on a p5a from asus.
I think that was scotter, but again I'm not 100% sure.

i agree, the p5a-b board is awesome. i have one myself hosting a k6-2/500@5x115/575. i believe you can pick up a refurb p5a at www.paragoncomp.com (http://www.paragoncomp.com) for about $45 US(thats if you dont mind the only 15 day warranty), otherwise they are around $90-95 US.
ya i think it was scotter who said the p5a can reach the 124 and 133 fsb mark, but i think you need to have good memory for that.

Hey Biztike,
How good the p5a-b may be, I'll be going celeron, for I fried my p5a-b.
That was the mobo on which I o/c'ed my first cpu, ahh, the memories of getting my k6-2 350 to 400, and ofcourse further then that, nothin beats your first succes of o/c'ing.
Pim.
BTW, does anybody have experience with an msi 6153, or have seen a review?? I can't seem to find one!!!
