at the very end of my k6-2/350 run i got it runnin stable at 472@2.8 volts. this was after running it at 400 then 420 for around 4 months. also was only using the stock hs/f, but lapped with thermal grease. my mobo died on me so in the process of replacing that i traded in the 350 for a 500.

Sounds like you may have a heat situation.

You might want to check out the "flatness" of your heatsink, especially if it was a "bargain" type. Hey, that's what I've got, but I lapped the chip and the heatsink and used thermal paste, and all is well.

Here's a great site (thanks Scotter!) for the how's and why's of lapping.
