I'm cooking eh. It's a awesome setup, everything fits exactly. I know its just a cooler, but its definetly well made, fits on my P3V4X nicely. Droped the temp by 4oC from diode inside cpu, I like that, it's running around ambient temp 30~31 oC from asus probe. I got the fans drawing air off the heatsink and blowing it outwards.

Try flipping the fan to blow onto the heatsink. I bet it drops a few more degrees. http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif
DOH.... Forgot to mention. I tried it both ways and I got a 2 deg C. drop blowing the air onto the heatsink. Not from from the heatsink.
Remember though. These were the results that I got. Others may have gotten different result. Try both ways.

I too just installed an Alpha PEP66U, heat sink and fan on my Intel 550E flip chip, on an IWill Slotket 2, on an Asus P3v4x. I have been overclocking it to 770 MHz, at 1.6v, it was rock stable, but it ran a little warm in games, (I'm using a program called hardware monitor pro, because the Asus probe program that came with it gave me unreliable readings, the CPU temp would fluctuate 30 or 40 degrees F, in a matter or 5 to 10 seconds). I was using a large heat sink and a Global Win fan, now that I'm using the Alpha setup, the temp at an Idle or just crusing the Internet, has dropped about 5 or 6 degrees F, and in games it has dropped a whopping 25 degrees F.
I have mine setup to blow into the heat sink, I didn't try it the other way.

WOOOHOOO, with this new heat sink and fan, I just cranked it up to 803 MHz, had to jack up the core voltage to 1.7v, but this thing is rock stable, I ran some racing games on it for over an hour, even at this increased voltage and FSB, with this new cooler, in these game I'm still running 15 to 20 degrees cooler than I did with my old setup.
I'll try that NavyDood, and post back. I liked the idea of exhausting the hot air out, I've got 3 fans blowing air in from the side, or did have, side of case is off till I make intake or exhaust port for alpha.
One question Guys, I read somewhere that fans (YS tech) draw too much current for mb fan conectors, have you got em plugged into the board or the wiring harness?

I tried that Jim, and got 1 deg drop on cpu temp, 3 deg increase in board temp, guess its telling me I need more exhaust fans!
In the manual it says fan conectors can draw up to 500ma (6w) so I put both cooler fan conectors on mb (total 4.32w) and case fans hooked up to harness.
MrLuigi, glad it worked out for ya http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif

DOH something else i forgot to mention.
I had one 4" fan pulling air in at the bottom and one 3" fan directly above the cpu pulling the air out via a blow hole in the top. It was a Mid-Tower. I built that for a friend of mine about a month ago.
