I have a staight 600 with 512 cache, and I have an Abit be6. I can't get it over 630, I have micron pc133 memory. I have it running on ultra ata 66 bus, could that be the problem, or I also have an HP9100 cd burner, any suggestions beside buying a 600E.

Thanks.

Try changing the cas form 2 to 3. Possibly bump the cache L2 Latency to 7 or higher. Voltage, did ya try a higher voltage? Thermal Grease does wonders. Give those a shot if you havent done so.

Nemo, I had that problem on my be6, till I flashed to latest bios, then my 600e went to 800 right away. I think I had MU bios and latest was PL, not sure now as I have different board, check to see if you got latest bios, these support higher cpu speeds. As mentioned by ck42866, thermal paste does go a long way to getting you up there, extra case fans too! Hope this gets you up there.

Biff, thats not a 600e, its just a 600.
Chances are you hit your limit and aint gunna get higher (limit for .25um is around 600Mhz, thats why Intel made no more .25 Microns after 600).

Things you could try is to disable DMA for all your harddrives, higher up the L2 Latency, Higher the RAM latency and CAS timing, flash the latest BIOS, and buying better cooling. Aside from those, theres not much you can do.
