how are these chips to overclock what is the max speed

The next speed is 570 (6x95) and that seems to be about the tops for an AMD K6-2 (even the 550mhz 2.2v flavor), I don't know of anyone who has attained 600mhz with stability and without any problems. Some people have hit 600mhz (very few) but they are using extream cooling methods and (if they are honest) usually admit to having at least some minor problems. I do not consider it a sucessful overclock if L1 cache has to be disabled, or if the chip has a fried L1 cache or works only in 16bit mode...etc.

I have a k6-2 550 2.3v.

Tested a few overclocking settings. I use an Alpha heatsink and fan from 3dfxcool.com

100x2(x6)=600 at 2.7 v. Stable for one week at a maximum temperature of 28c. Lowered the voltage to 2.6 now stable at 20c, using Cpuidle. Only had a few problems when using some beta drivers, now none at all.

112x5.5=616 at 2.8v stable for 3-4 hours at 32c, when I play TCF the PC reboots. I think it could be due to my graphics card "GeFoce 32 SDRAM", I will try to cool the card further.
Would not recommend going to 2.9v.
616 would be the maximun speed that you could get out of it.

Rebooting?
you need cooling!
open the case and put a house fan blowing on the cpu and see if it does it again.
600 is not that difficult, but high yield chips are rare. If you can try before you buy, you'll find one that'll do 600 within the first dozen. 616 @ 2.7V is feasible and even 620 (5x124) can be achieved. Stability? fewer chips will be both overclockers and stable. Personally I thing the 550 is a waste. half the price and you got a 500 that'll do 550 (or 560 that's much faster) and most probably have the same chances hitting 600 as the 550 (very few)!

You are right, it looks stable using a house fan even at 124x5 2.8v. 3Dmark 2000 score of 2692.

I love the setup, but my only worry is that at 124 the speed the AGP might be too high and I could damage the Gforce(expensive card).

The mobo is an Aopen AX59 Pro, and as far as I know it has no divider.

You got an AX59 Pro @ 124Mhz and stable??? Wow...
Congratulations!

Thank you, but only with the case open a very big house fan pointing at the cpu. I think I'll stay at 600 just in case.
