Hello everyone. I have run into another problem. My computer wont boot. The hard drive is connected, floppy, memory, cd rom , cd burner, power, video card, and cpu. When i turn on the power, the cd rom light turns on, the hard disk light turns on, etc, but the floppy light doesnt come on. I dont hear any beeps or anything and when i first turn it on, the monitor flashes a greenish screen for half a sec and the its just blank and nothings goin on. What can be the problem? Im thinking its either a bad mother board or a bad cpu. I bought the cpu(600e) for 210 because it was an open box, but i think someone might have switched it with a bad cpu. Can a bad cpu cause this problem? Is there anyway to test out where the problem is? Thanks. I need help please

A defeective cpu can definitely cause this problem. If you can, check it out on another baord to make sure it actually works.

Try disconnecting everything to board except for CPU, memory, video card, and ATX power connector. Take out any other card you have plus all IDE leads and floppy leads and try reseating the memory and processor /slocket by taking them out and putting them back in. If your pc still does not boot try clearing BIOS - sometimes works. If all else fails I guess you have a defective CPU - that is if the rest of your components are ok.
u should post this at technical support http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif
u can't clear the BIOS, but u can clear the CMOS, clear the CMOS by taking out the battery, or discharging it, by shorting it. To do this, just move the jumper around, do it on what it says on your mobo manual.
