Motherboard manufacturering

I have always wondered who makes the motherboards for IBM, Compaq, HP, etc. Does anyone know?

The three you named have always made their own boards, i believe, but this may not be true with HP's lower-end systems. Companies like Dell and Gateway (and everyone else, I suppose) Use OEM boards from the likes of Intel, SuperMicro, Tekram and others. They don't stay with one particular manufacture. These companies will also modify these boards and Bios to fit their needs.
