well, i've heard that if you take off the rubber pads (or feet) of the PEP66U (a FC-PGA Alpha Fansink), you can use it on a socket 7. For more information, go to the socket 7 section in http://www.3dfxcool.com and the alpha section in http://www.millisec.com. I have lots of room in my case to add that probably, but my question is, will it be too heavy, and will it actually fit a socket 7. My CPU is a K6-2 500. I'm about to get my P5A-B so, i'm planning to get better cooling for major overclocking.

You will not get any kind of major OCing with that chip.........also note that the alpha pal performs better........it is just that the pep takes up less dimms when using a slocket on a celeron/coppermine.....I would advise you to just get a BX based MB for about the same price....sell your k6 and MB.then get a celeron 366@550+...then later on upgrade to a coppermine or celeron II
what's the most i can get with this chip?

The most you will get with a good cooling setup is about 600 but 550 is a reality ithout to much hassle. 560@5x112 is about the best option because of the increase in memory bandwidth.
in what terms do u mean, "good cooling", watercooling, alpha?? what?

I would say that maybe less then 1 in 100 will hit 600Mhz with a good heatsink....you can probally get to 550 with a really good heatsink..........maybe a tiny bit faster............you will hardly even notice the difference though.......trust me I went through the same thing......and ended up getting a celeron on the cheap along with a good pII/pIII mobo......now I am really smiling because I sold my celery for what I paid for it and now I have a celeronII in the mail that will I am sure will get to at least 850Mhz.....I am shooting for 960Mhz.
where did you sell your chip at. and where do u think i can sell mines.
