Sysopt:

First of all, I'd like to apologize to you and other members of this forum if I gave this forum a bad rep. I didn't mean for my thread @ "buy and sell" "Wanted $$$Money$$$" to get this much bad mouthing from guys @ the other forum. Absolutely no intention of doing that. Again, I'd like to apologize to everybody.

Yeah, I guess it was kind of useless at first...but...if you read on I truly am looking for $$$. I turned a totally useless thread into something that is legit and has merit. I'm still looking for that darn February Millennium Coin, that is a true fact, so I don't know how you can say that its useless.

So please don't pass judgement on this thread like others have in other forums if you haven't grasped my real intentions.

"This thread is useless" - it may very well be useless to you, but not to me. If you're not going to have anything positive to contribute in my search for this coin, @ least I'd expect from you is that you could be polite (ie - by not saying that it's useless) and ignore it.

As the forum title states, this is a "User to User, Biz to Biz, Product Exchange". In no way did it imply that it must be computer related deals.

Just how is this thread USELESS?!

Just because some ill-person from some other forum makes a monkey out of some of us sysopt members, does that mean you, SYSOPT, have to be just as ill-minded as *them* and to come and CRITICIZE ME???

I don't get it, what has gotten into you???
Is it peer-pressure that makes you feel you've got to say something in the midst of all this mess???

Please *think* about what you've just said.
I would have least expected this to come out of you, Sysopt, editor-in-chief.

By the way, I am still lookin' for that coin. Anybody got it, give me a shout, I'll make it worth your while. Come out come out wherever you are.......^_^

Hey Sysopt, no hard feelings.
Just let this thing go and we'll all have a good night sleep, OK?

wow. thats the harshest apology I have ever seen.

My opinion all the last few weeks: too much apologizin, not enough computer talkin.

Chipbgt - hey, your post here isn't *computer talkin*...aha..GOTCHA! hehehe

Your P3 was overclocked too far and made my PC overheat. Clearly, other PC's were overheated by your P3 overclocking as well - so turn down that FSB!

My point, plucky, was that "Wanted $$$Money$$$" doesn't belong here. Is that tough to understand? This isn't the U.S. Mint! It is a COMPUTER HARDWARE SITE.

(comp talk for ya, Chipbgt http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif )

Edit: I'm not out to censor everything or say that a good amount of community discussion is a bad thing or not allowed.. It's just that sometimes some posts are a bit silly/unnecessary here. I'm sure there was some way you could have rephrased your entire money post, from subject to post body, that would have been far more amenable, than "hey, anyone have spare money?" yeah, uhhuh

at the time it was a bit humorous. That "other" site does not seem to have much humor. I cruised around it and it was just another uptight bulletin board. I feel close to all of you guys and gals, we are one big happy family.

feel free to edit/delete any "not-nice" comments socalgal, Joel, or Scott.

As I've stated, @ first I wasn't quite sure what the thread would be comprised of, as it was only meant to be *for laughs*. It was only after the topic was typed up and decided on did I thought of my sister's coin collection and found a *true use* for the thread, so please don't even try to hold me by my neck about this TOPIC TITLE BusinesS.

Besides, don't we all need a little laugh or two once in a while?

C'mon guys, do you see a little humour in all of this? Lighten up guys...

So-called "useless" threads do serve a purpose. Entertainment. Even for us, hard-core comp talk gets old & you need a break.

So Plucky's "Money" thread upset one person who flamed it elsewhere. So what. What about "hamster" and "Hmmm.."?

I for one consider Plucky as an asset to this "community". He's always been a bit of a character, but it adds to the place. His threads are always... attention-getters.

Go get 'em P-D!! http://www.sysopt.com/forum/biggrin.gif

BTW, the same guy that started this fuss did the same thing at HOST. Didn't accomplish anything there, nobody agreed & it kinda backfired on him.

Plucky,

I guess I should apologize (even after I said we had too much of that here http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif )
because I would much rather have you as a fellow poster than someone who goes around flaming like a fiend.

So much more to say..but no real reason to say it....back to the posting http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

posted this over at host..I apoligize if it is innapropriate admin....
Please delete if you find it necessary....
You know, thru all of this GB/Gintaras has never stated his purpose/agenda for starting this whole situation here,@Sysopt, Pcmech and who knows whatever other BBS he has posted this attempt at starting a flamewar between forum sites.....Doesnt it in the least make you curious as to why or what reasons he has to stir up trouble for this reputable site (Sysopt) by mucking up other reputable sites with this kind of mudslinging garbage?? The last thing any of these sites need is some kind of feud between website forums over a few posts that arent (IMO) very significant in the first place nor an outspoken slanderous opinion call for recruitments to a cause like a flamewar over how personal preference leans towards dislike on how a website is run... Sites like this one, Sysopt and all the others, each have their own merits and a wealth of knowledge for those that are seeking answers, a friendly community to associate with and not to have any fear of feeling berated or demeaned because one doesnt have the level of intelligence or knowledge that many members have ; and of course, we all might have our preferences as to which one may be our favorite for whatever reasons we may have, but that still doesnt warrant jumping from site to site flaming a particular one just because of non agreement with how things are being handled, run, or even the site's general atmosphere whether it is too easy going, too strict, or whatever beef one has...I apologize for the length of this post, I will end it with this: We come to these sites to educate ourselves, help one another if we can and to be a socially adequate asset to each and/or all of these communities NOT to fight amongst one another.....Thank you for hearing me out...

I'm glad that apologies were exchanged... http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

Girato is just a loser that gets off on causing probs. If someone complains and lists things he doesn't like, intelligent people will see merit. Girato got some very intelligent people to do some stupid (IMCO) things. People like girato simply have nothing worthwhile in their lives. I mean hey, lets be real hones here. If you have time to live on a bb, like me, thats fine. But if you stinkin get all your social kicks off of it, thats pretty pathetic!

fo*rum (for em) n, pl. 1. the market place or public square of an ancient Roman city, the center of judicial and other business and a place of assembly for the people. 2. a court or tribunal: the forum of public opinion. 3. an assembly for the discussion of questions of public interests. [t. L]

Just my $0.02 worth, but if you have a forum, and regardless of the post, it's probably a good idea to let the opinions happen unless they're libelous or profane (potty words!).

The other forum obviously is hung-up upon titles and propriety (The Assistant Flashlight) or the (Adjunct Dog-Walker), and their subject matter is pure and good (;o). We're all big girls n' boys here, lets keep the subject matter paramount and leave the fighting for the AMPHITHEATRE, not the FORUM.

Tony

just http://countrymusic.about.com/entertainment/countrymusic/library/bldboots.htm
it out and maybe do a little http://members.aol.com/PhiSigEm/EDpCSpic1.htm and as far as the hampsters go http://www.hamsterdance.com/

we all say and do things that don't make "CENTS" to others. that's what makes this world go around. I'm in now way takeing sides. it just that it seems like there is other things to talk about.

O ya, I almost forgot the money part. here you go. hope you take plastic too. http://www.telepath.com/purkat/money.html

This has been bugging me every time I see it, so...
Once and for all -

THE WORD HAMSTER DOES NOT CONTAIN THE LETTER "P"!!!!!

Glad to get THAT off my chest http://www.sysopt.com/forum/biggrin.gif

(You notice I carefully did NOT say that "there is no p in hamster") hehehe...

hehe well it does kinda...

that Hamsterdance thing was apparently inspired by the guys hamster which was called Hampton Hampster.

One day, our kids will be taught this in English class...

ham'ster (n.) An old English word for hampster, a rodent indigenous to the Arabian peninsula, popular as a childrens' pet in the late 20th century.

hamp'ster (n.) A rodent indigenous to the Arabian peninsula, popular as a childrens' pet in the late 20th century. It takes it's name from HampsterDance Corp., a global music company which used cartoon images of such rodents in its merchandise.

I have always seen that H word spelled both ways and wondered at the correct spelling. Now I see they are both correct. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif
