why would you want to un-install winzip?it's about as handy a proggie as there is.

...WHAT standard '98 zip utility are you talking about?

Because i only have the shareware version of winzip. The 98 zip utility can't make self extractors but it can create normal ziped folders etc and it's a lot more intergrated into the operating system than winzip.

ok i installed winzip and then uninstalled it.

How do i get the standard win 98 zip utility back?

your shareware version is fully functional, and will never expire.

btw-i really don't know about an included zip utility in '98...clue me in.

AugiDog is right, i had winzip (forget what version)on win95 for over 1.5 years, fully functional, never expired. Great utility, IMO.

There is a built in zip ultility to win98. I works ok and runs like the standard explorer interface, but the functionality of it doesnt touch winzip.

As far as how to get it back after installing winzip...got me.

The standard "win98" zip utility is on the Microsoft Plus 98 pack, reinstall that and you're golden.
