I've been overclocking my pentiumIII 450mhz to 600mhz no problem. It, of course, generates lots of heat. I heard that alot of it comes from the cache(those little chips on the cpu right?....correct me if I'm wrong). I want to know if it's necessary to cool these. I have zinc and aluminum oxide thermal greases that I may use for it.
Am I in danger of "contamination" too? I've never used a non-silicon based thermal compound on my cpu. I want to apply these to the chip. Is it safe to use these compunds? Please help.
