In my physics class I learned of a new perpetual motion machine that anyone can make, it’s really easy. Its commonly know that a cat will always land on it’s feet if dropped, and it is known that a buttered piece of toast will always land buttered-side-down if dropped. So you get a cat and strap a piece of buttered toast to its back (butter-side-up), drop the cat and just before you think it’ll reach the ground, you have a perpetual motion machine. Now all we have to do is figure a way to harness this new energy and solve our planets power crisis. The things you learn in public school these day...

first, attach a horizontal pole coming out of the cat-toast contraption and connect it to a turbine, this is where the power will generate. Next, push the cat or toast, whichever you prefer, then let it go. Since the toast and cat will fight for the bottom, you will have perpetual motion. And they said Einstein was a genius! lolv

oh, btw, patent pending!

we'll get millions of cats in a big room, all with toast on their back, and then we hook the cat's brain to some matrix like computer (just so we're not cruel) and we'll be set! Screw Einstein!

Anyone know where we could get good Cat Wranglers? http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

do yo think we could overclock this spinny cat device?

What if the cat eats the toast???

the cat is in the matrix thingy so we don't have to worry about it eating the toast, plus who ever heard of of CAT eating TOAST, where would you get such a DUMB idea fishinbuddy? gee wizzz..... get with it, YO!

hahahaha
ending sentenses with YO! is fun, YO!

Murphy's Law is the one concerning the buttered toast - i.e. whatever can go wrong, will. Experiments to prove this empirically usually end up with one or more slices of toast stuck to the ceiling.

Also, measuring the output of the cat/toast composite material could be very inaccurate if the cat is of the Schroedinger varietal.

Yes you could Overclock the spinny Cat device by feeding the cat LSD20. "But then you'd have the SPCA breathing down your back..

Mattheadfat,

My cat eats toast, doesnt yours?

Besides its the only way she knows how to stop herself from spinning in mid-air.

Don't forget the furball remedy in place of the thermal paste!

I've found peanut butter to be more efficient than butter. Wonder how many cat/watts are generated? http://www.sysopt.com/forum/biggrin.gif

If the cats eat the toast thats a problem... We also have the problem of keeping the cats feed...

I suggest that we just use two pieces of buttered toast; less cost to maintain (how much would it cost to pay someone to replace the butter when it needs it?

If this happens we'll need a large supply of both butter and bread. I suggest we use a good grain bread which would hold up longer under the stress of the spinning.

we could just butter a piece of toast on both sides and forget the cat, then we don't have to worry about the spca, BUT THAT WOULD JUST BE STUPID

I you really want RPMs out of the machine...add a dog to the mix. I have a Wire Fox Terrier that could crank up the cat/toast motor to many 10K's of RPM! And if you have a fat cat, that would mean pissa torque! And, if you use "Cinnamon Swirl" toast (I ALWAYS drop that face down cause it tastes soooo good, thanks to Murphy), you're guaranteed perperual motion.

I thought physics were taken for constipation. Must be a different thread.
