Im having some trouble with my new PS2 Mouse and PS2 Keyboard. When i play Quake2 sometimes my keyboard lags extremely. For a long period i cant do anything, but sit and watch as the keyboard freaks out. It just "moves" around in quake 2 for several seconds, like i was pressing the keys. After a while i can use the keyboard again.

I dont know what is causing this problem but i do know that when changing to a serial mouse the problem stops, but this means giving up one of my com ports which is crazy since i have a PS2 port!

I have a Logitech Cordless Wheel Mouse & Keyboard, and a friend of mine has the same problem, but has a noname keyboard and a Logitech Wheel mouse!

Can anybody help me with this problem. It is very annoying, and very VERY bad for railing!!!!! ;-)

You might try to get the latest and greatest drivers for both the keyboard and mouse and see if that fixes the prob.

It just sounds to me like the sytem might be a bit overloaded...you might try to close all background running proggies and try a lower resolution?

I use a logitech internet keyboard and logitech mouseman + and don't have a problem.

I did notice one strange thing. sometimes my mouse hits wackyville just doing standard things on the desktop...opening and clicking and moving when nothing is being done. But its very rare and the latest drivers seemed to have fixed that.

In addition to what Von said, check and make sure nothing else is trying to use IRQ 12 on your system. This is used by a PS/2 mouse.

Good Luck.
