Ed_S 04-08-2000, 06:09 PM Intel gave up S7 long ago, the last one was the P233MMX. flightsimcanada.com 04-08-2000, 06:40 PM AMD still has Socket 7 CPU's up to 550MHz. wtp 04-08-2000, 06:42 PM i know that, i love AMD and i kno almost everything about that, but my dad wants an Intel for his socket 7.. i doubt there are any fast ones, but i might of not seen it correctly, is there a fast socket 7 processor from intel??? or are they mostly FC-PGA, s370, and Slot 1s now. Eli 04-08-2000, 07:11 PM It depends on your definition of fast. The fastest Intel socket 7 chip is a 233MMX. I suppose you could overclock it a bit higher on some motherboards, but that's about it for Intel. Sorry. neo_otyugh 04-08-2000, 08:03 PM will he even notice the diff once the chip is in though???? wtp 04-08-2000, 09:11 PM uhm.. well hehe, if i put a P233, he'd notice a difference, cuz in his comp. he has a 380MHz K6-2, hehe, i have the fastest 523MHz K6-2. I'm gonna buy an Athlon later on. But right now, i'm getting an alpha fansink, and Asus's P5A-B mobo. neo_otyugh 04-08-2000, 11:44 PM well...put a k6-2 550 in there....that should be a big enough diff that he doesn't mind it not being intel... wtp 04-08-2000, 11:51 PM hehe, i think your a mindreader, he changed his mind and wanted the 550!! Thanks for the free mindreading neo!!! i saved my self 99 cents!! SysOpt.com
