Ok im having BIG problems now............like i said before my CPU temp is
jumping all arround.... if i have the Asus Probe on and for example i open
my dialing up to logg in the internet the temp of my CPU goes from 42C to
79C....... in just one second...... after i get online the temp goes back
agein.... if i open the browser the same thing and
worst......................from 41C goes to 98 C .... ..i take out the
heat sink and use a fan to test it and is the same problem.............. i
put now some extra heat sink compound in the heat sink.... im waiting to dry
and give it another try.......... but i start to think the im having meaybe
a bad CPU ..........?????

don't panic it sounds to me like you temp probe is f***ked you wont get a 40degree jump purely by dialing up for a start the modem will use no processor time unless its a winmodem but on a p3 600 even that would be negligible so calm down your temp probe is up the spout nothing else http://www.sysopt.com/forum/biggrin.gif

I had the smae problem, mine was going from like 35C-120C. Then I got Motherboard monitor, and now its reasonable. Try MBM4.1. It is good stuff.
