My interests pretty much are all over the map. Grew up idolizing uncle teddy nugent,(still do http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif ) for a Bad, i mean BAAADDD guitar solo, listen to wang dang sweet p**ntang when he plays it on double live gonzo. The man can WAIL! Listen to alot of stuff now, from new rock to classic, OLD c&w because the guys like waylon and willie, merle haggard, don williams sang about stuff they lived, not something somebody threw in front of them and said" sing this like it happened to you".
Sorry, back on track, synth music(mannhiem steamroller, don dorsey, kraftwerk etc) but mostly good old rock and roll. My music taste is diverse to say the least, so I don't slam on anybody for what they like.
I once bought a skid row and a bachbusters cd at the same time,I wish I could have taken a picture of the kids face who was checking me out, I think I caused him to vapor-lock http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

Anything Aerosmith with a preference towards the 70's stuff. They're definitely my favorite band all time and if you've never seen them live, you've never really heard them. They have a kickass show and they sound incredible. Joe Perry's guitar sounds flat on CD after hearing it live. Mostly anything hard rock/classic rock. Actually I've been impressed with a few of the newer bands: Foo Fighters, etc.
Guilty Pleasures:
John Denver
Neil Diamond

Jokestel-
I agree with your 1,6,8 & 10. I would have to put more Zep in there, add a little Primus, some NIN and Hendrix, Barry Adamson (for you British folks), Phish.
My taste varies. Right now I am in a metal phase again. I go from alternative, to metal, to folkish, to rapish-contemporary and back.

Temple of the Dog (collaboration of Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, Mother Love Bone)
Favorite band:
Badlands (Jake E. Lee's band after Ozzy, the best blues/rock you'll ever hear)

live electonic music is my passion
I love to dance all night long whilst listening to live DJs and live electronic music
I like most of the bands mentioned here. My preference is towards guitar oriented music. Anything with good electric guitar in it, I will appreciate.
I used to be a great fan of metalica, maiden annihilator and many other metal bands. I still like them but now I'm more into softer stuff. I like stevie ray vaughan a lot and Kenny Shepherd. Joe Pass(excellent jazz guitar)
Steve Vai, Malmsteen, Randy Rhoads(Ozzy's first guitarist)
My favorite though is Michael Shencker. Its amazing how good he can sound with just simple pentatonics.

Without a doubt, and unfortunately most of you had never had the opportunity to see a live performance, much less really got into their music, but to me the most powerful and prolefic(?) of at least the 60's and to the century was Jim Morrison and the Doors. I saw them at the Singer Bowl ( Old World's Fair (1964) ) and the placed rocked the whole night long, one of my fondest memories. If you have the time and the inclination, I urge ya'll to get into his music and his poetry.
There's alot more than just what's on the surface.
Let's not forget to mention Phil Ochs either!

I have no particular favorites. However, I don't like most Rap, any Opera and most Country.
My CD collection consists of types ranging from J.S. Bach to Motley Crue and just about everyone in between. With me it's usually easier to as what I DON'T like.

Turn The Page is a Bob Seger song and nobody will ever do it better than he did new years eve of 76 in Kalamazoo Michigan....1am....crowd pretty drunk or stoned...third oncore(sp)...60 foot speakers on both sides of the stage...lights go off...all black..lighters are lit for 20 to 30 seconds and crowed getting real noisy...sax player starts playing and the roar goes up and the spotlight shows him on top of the 60 ft speaker to the right of the stage...slowly the lights come up to the rest of the band and to this day I can still feel the goose bumps as the crowd that up untill this time was rowdy fuc#$d up got death still and mellow...after Turn The Page finished the crowed filed out in almost complete silence with no problems...Thee most memorable song and concert I have ever had the pleasure to witness.

Scream 3 looked like a screamin' soundtrack when I saw the band list in my Spin...went straight to the URL on there after I saw the ad..a bit dissapointed after i saw the track names. Unfortunatly, most of em are old songs. I liked most of the bands on there, something very rare for a soundtrack...Slipknot, Creed, Staind, System, SEVENDUST, Godsmack, Static, Incubus, FUEL..I dont like Orgy or powerman, but Ill put up with em if every other bands on there...If they were all new songs, Id get the CD, but thier not.. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/frown.gif

Hey Blade_146-
What is StainD like? they are playing here in Charleston at the Music Farm next week. Are they pretty heavy?
Glad someone mentioned Porno 4 Pyros.
And what's the deal with everyone liking OLD NIN. Doesn't anyone like T.R.'s new stuff? I think it is awesome. Not as good as D.Spiral but that is pretty hard to beat.

Hey narayan, I'm not a huge KISS fan (although I did have all their 8-tracks at one time) but I just recently got the tribute album Kiss My *** and I gotta admit, it's pretty cool hearing the likes of Anthrax, Extreme, Gin Blossoms, Garth Brooks, Lemmonheads, and others do old KISS tunes.
I got all the tunes as mp3's if your interested.

Thanks blade_146, I didn't know CDNow had samples available. It's difficult getting an idea of the quality of remixes from a 30-second sample, but I'll use them for samples of other kinds of music. Thanks again.
And I left New Order out of my list too. Doh! What could I have been thinking?
