Hello....I was wondering if i have ACPI enabled & use it on my windows 98. If i have this option is it necessary to have a program like Rain or CpuIdle, etc... also running to cool cpu? I guess i do more surfing than anything with occasional gaming. So i was wondering if something like Rain would help keep me cooler until i walk away from my puter where ACPI kicks in to put it in standby. Or is this perhaps alittle overkill & stick to one or the other? I do like ACPI & the functions that it provides.

Thanks for any imput!!!

Hi there My Alley Cat:

I really can't answer your question directly'
but I hate to see a post unanswered. If you have an AMD processor on board your computer' you can go to www.powerleap.com (http://www.powerleap.com) and download
thr "powerleap" control panel ( look under free download( i think ))It has "Rain" built into it and maximizes (optimizes) your CPU.
Hope this helps http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif
