:0, I have 3 computers hooked up on my Lan here at home. With my main one as the ics link to the world. I added an alpha cooler, most of you probably read that thread. Got those probs fixed up. This problem cropped up yesterday. Everything runs perfect. Played UT on the internet for 2 hours, heat ok, no crashes or errors. Wonderful! My daughters want to play quake 2 over our network. We hook up, same as always, but now, just a couple minutes into the game, the main machine locks up, freezes, and even reboots sometimes! I thought maybe it was just q2, so I tried diablo, same problem. CAnt even get red alert to go into network mode, just hangs on that screen. It even rebooted when I was trying to download a file for the other computer, through the ICS, the temp on cpu was only 32c when it crashed, and at 400mhz, it usually runs at 40 no problem. CAn anyone help with this? I know it should probably be in networking, but since it is oc'd?.... :]

Just a guess, but could it be a PCI ethernet card malfunctioning due to the O.C.ed PCI bus? I'm also guessing this is an O.C.ed system. I don't know what your PCI bus is at, but my ethernet card seems to run fine at 37 over a cable modem.

Check to see if you have a divider for isa speed in the bios and get it as close to 8mhz as you can or even try it lower.

The pci bus isn't oc'd. Running at 100mhz. Thats the most the board will do. the thing ran perfect just 2 days ago. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/frown.gif
Now, not good at all http://www.sysopt.com/forum/frown.gif
for just regular file browsing, the network is fine. Just this computer crashes during a game etc.

Update: Just ran quake 2 again, crashed-just totally rebooted the system like as if it overheated. temp was 37c.

Ran at 40c all day yesterday no trouble. ????
