ok, my P III 500 @ 667 runs fine, except the fact that I have to disable the L2 cache. now, when I try to boot at 700 MHz (140 FSB) The comp locks up right after initializing the CPPU and showing the speed and one more thing. What could be causing the trouble? I am using PC 100 Ram, but it is REALLY good stuff! I am stumped here(shut up with the jokes!)

Could be that you need to change some settings or you have made errors with the setup. First, you should try putting you voltage level up. And check if you put the multiplier correctly. Most important, get rid of termal problems, have the cpu cooled at all times.

The comp never EVER goes above 55C at 667, and that is at stock voltage. I'll try it at higher voltage.

Sweet! I got my P III 500 stable at 666! I bumped the voltage up to 2.1 to get past the registry errors, then it runs fine! it is averaging 51.6C with RC5 client running. Is that acceptable? The highest it has ever reached is 55C.
-EDIT-
****. It wasn't stable for long. after 10 minutes or so, it got the blue screen, for everything, then I just restarted and ent back to 620. It was running at 2.1 V. I think it may have been a hat problem.
