Hello all

My questions is somewhat off topic, But I need some help.
I am new to the IT industry and am wanting to make a career out of it. I already have my A+ and Network+ certifications and am studying for MCP right now. Well I have two job offers and need some help on deciding which one. One is a help desk position and the other is with a printer repair company that will invole about 15-20% PC repair. Now I am wanting to stay more torwards the Engineering side of networking and not really the administrative side, I understand the go hand-in-hand but I really prefer the Hardware side of it. The 2 companies compare in every way, Money, benifits and location. My concern is which one will give the most practical experience for my future goals. Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I apologize for the lentgh and if this not the proper area please fell free to move or delete as needed.

Well if the "help desk" is anything like ours at the company that I work for (I'm in the data center/cold room) They dont sit at a desk answering phones all day. (although they do take turns handling the phones) They are usually all over the building doing moves and working with the telecomm guys ect. (several have been promoted into admin jobs in a short period of time)

of the two, the second one will give you much more practical experience and will probably serve you better as a start off job... i just don't think that sitting at a help desk all day will help you in any way and it would definitely bore me, but whatever.... the one at the printer repair company would definitely serve your future better...

so, my advice (of the two) would be to take the one at the printer repair company...

just my 2 cents...

anywayz...
