I have a problem trying to OC over 400 (95*4.5,100*4.5, 112*3.5, 112*4)my MOBO is a GigaByte 5SMM, I donŽt know if the problem is the RAM (30)or CPU temp, or simply the MOBO doesnŽt support it, somebody toldme about AGP bus (66) but when I changed to 112 on bus AGP changes to 75 (checking with Sandra) Can you helpme?

If it is a very early 350 you will be lucky to get 400 stable. I had one and it was maxed out at 400...so I gave it to my Dad as he thinks it is a lot better than his p200 http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

Sorry to have to tell this, but the (2)350's I've dealt with never made it over 400. One wouldn't do that.

I have seen others post great success with these, but it's rare.

What voltages have you tried? Might just need a little more juice, but don't go over 2.6v!!

Tico,

have you tried running the 350 in "Celeron" mode? I mean by this have you disabled the L2 cache in the BIOS, then tried to OC it? What I mean is that it may be your L2 cache is stopping you OC, rather than the CPU core itself. You will get a performance decresae when you disable the L2 cache, but it may be that if you can get the processor to clock sufficiently high enough with the cache disabled, you can get an overall benefit, if you see what I mean...?

I don't know what the equivalent performance is with the cache disabled is compared to with the cache enabled - like does a P2 300 with cache perform the same as a P2 500 without - this is one for someone with more experience with this....? (suggestions?)

By the way, Tico - how did you get on with removing that heatsink??

krusty the klown is right as it would prove that it was your board that is causing the problems but sadly the k6-2 is hopeless without L2 enabled but if you had another board lying around then you would know if it was worth trying it if your 350 went higher on the present one wth L2 disabled. You have probably tried this but slow down your ram timings and set ram to cas3 in bios. Good luck http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

Thanx a lot guys.
Krusty, the most I have tried is 2.5, IŽll will try with 2.6. And talking about the heatsink IŽll try to.
