I now have reason to believe that Intel did bump up the 1G processors' release date to force AMD to do the same. Check this out.

So now AMD's prices are forced down, and they don't profit as much. Intel can take a bigger hit than AMD can.

That would be a normal business tactic.......
I don't see anything wrong with it.
Is it shadey or sharp business practices ? AMD has to pull something out of the bag being in the red 7 quarters out of 10. Intels got the coin to do what it sees as a dominant force. Prestigue may be fine for some, but its buckaroos on yer balance sheet that shareholders want to see

No doubt, but I also have no doubt that AMD could easliy have released faster processors much sooner but they wanted to milk the market as much as possible. Perhaps this is not exactly ethical either.

I'm afraid I'll have to agree w/oblivion... We in this country have always encouraged local competition and discouraged foreign 'dumping.' AMD and Intel can duke it out afaiac....
