right now i have a ppga celery 466mhz
running @488mhz on a slocket on an abit
board...
i want to get a slot 1 cpu because
my slocket doesnt fit my case correctly...
should i buy a slot 1 366mhz celery?
what can i o/c it to?
is its clock locked?
on the other hand... my 466@541 gets
halfway into windows before freezing..
should i just bet a better heatsink/fan
than the one i have now? (stock)
hmm...
any input would be appreciated...

Have you tried increasing the core voltage of your CPU to 'give it some help'????
Some slockets you can incease the volts, some you can't (that's if your mobo won't let you).
If you get one of the latest slockets, they will run celerys and flip-chip Coppermines (I think: check at the shop first!) and have a decent range of core voltage adjustment.
If you tweak the voltge - don't use more than necessary (keep it to 2.2V max to be on the safe side), use thermal grease and keep a check on temp. You should only need to upgrade your cooling if the current setup is inadequate - there's nothing to be gained by upgrading the cooling if your stock system's already doing a good job. More volts will produce lots more heat tho.
Mmmmm... slot 1 Celery 366 is more than likely multiplier locked :-(

yeah it's multiplier locked, btw, u can overclock that celery 366 to atleast 550 w/proper cooling. I'm gettin a 433 and I'm goin 2 try 4 550!

the 366 celeron is a great overclocker but NOT the slot1 version! The ppga version hits 550 easily but the slot1 will not go as high!

i have tried to increase the voltage,
and it doesnt feel like my cpu is
getting very hot, maybe the cpu just
wont do it?
anyway, maybe i should look at a PIII?
i would like to get a slot 1 chip, but
i am not sure of my best value for at
least a 500mhz+ cpu...
maybe athlon?
hmmm...
thanks for the help btw...

Your board won't take an Athlon, I'd just get a bigger case - cheaper.
