i don't know if anyone here has yet read it, but the new John Grisham book "The Brethren" came out pretty recently and i am interested in seeing if it was any good... i am considering just waiting until i can get a used copy, but if it is good (like a Grisham novel could ever be bad), then i may just go to b&n and get me a copy....

thanks in advance...

p.s. i realize that this is not really computer-related, but it almost could be. if you have a slow connection (like me) then when you download something really big, like 20mb, then you sometimes read a book. so this could then be considered sort of relating to computers, but i just wanted to know who has read this book... (Socalgal, i understand if you MUST delete this post, because of all of your responsibilities and such.)

anywayz....

sorry, I hate books without full color pictures.

Unless they are instructions manuals to something, with I don't read either. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif

Love to read - haven't seen the latest Grisham novel yet. Most times I read while waiting for my wife to get off the computer so I can get to the boards. Can't wait until I get my gateway setup and we both can surf at the same time.

ok... so people do read, they just read magazines and stuff (i.e. things with pics as izzzy had mentioned)....

just to let you know, this is not an attack against those who read things with pics, for i do also enjoy reading many mags and other stuff, but rather i am just searching for someone who reads novels, such as the afformentioned author...

if anyone atleast reads Grisham, then maybe you can respond to tell me if you wish to (or have already) read the new one...

<EDIT> started posting before you posted, mark... i appreciate you posting, though.... have you heard anything about the book, though?.... i would be very interested if you or anyone else has (like that isn't already pretty obvious)..

anywayz...

Quit reading that sissy lawyer stuff and get into some good ol fashion CIA post-Cold war thrillers by Tom Clancy. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

cujo - haven't seen a whole lot about the book yet, but just ran into this excerpt on MSNBC www.msnbc.com/news/362887.asp?0a=22686w1- (http://www.msnbc.com/news/362887.asp?0a=22686w1-) . Like you I would like to get the book now, but hate to pay the price for it.

A John Grisham novel? Lemme guess.... it's about a young lawyer who comes up against an establishment conspiracy??

Oh sorry did I ruin it? *snicker*

Try Greg Bear or Umberto Eco for a real head-rush http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif

PS Cujo, I'm just playing. I'm glad ppl are still reading those old 20th century book things - I have about 400 of them http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif
