Is Intel Bluffing?

I read here: http://news.cnet.com/category/0-1006-200-1562208.html that Intel will be shipping 1 Ghz HPs by the end of this month. Are they bluffing to get AMD to release their chips sooner (and thus not profit as much), or are they just cooling and O/Cing, in an attempt to get back their spot? Because I know that Intel has deeper pockets than AMD, and Intel needs to do something to stop AMD's pummeling.
Well, either way, this little competition sure is bringing out some fast chips.

Well I read on some website the other day that they are shipping 1GHz chips in some HP pcs next month. Then they will start bringing out the 850 and so forth after that. I guess they just want the title right now.
