Brydon 02-23-2000, 01:17 AM I got a huge athlon heatsink from maplins today for £15, the same one I have already used to really cool my celeron 400@600 and put it on my k6-2 450. I got it running at 575 105x5.5 2.9v http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif. Sadly though it is only in win2000. I tried win98se and got into windows and then get bsod. I reckon the voltage is high but win2000 already has hlt instructions built in so it is running cool enough(25c idle).I haven,t tried any 3d stuff as I can,t get any to run or at least I can,t get 3dmark 2k to run http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif Here is a pic and now I am off to try 600, let you know if it dies lol http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif http://www.zyworld.com/Brydon2/575.jpg otheos 02-23-2000, 01:56 AM Hopes are high!!! I got mine @ 6x100 @ 3.0V just made it into win98 but BSOD! 5x124 is what I'll look for but with anything higher than 2.7V you really shorten the chips life and I really want to keep this chip for a while. Keep us posted! alpha 02-23-2000, 02:50 AM Me, K6-2 450@ 524mhz at 2.3volts. Haven't tried 2.2 yet, got cooling stuff just this morning, stays dead cool, 40-47 Centigrade, estimated!! The o/c freak 02-23-2000, 02:54 AM Hey brydon, You'd better not go that distance to 600, cause I fried my k6-2 450 on that. I also got it at 575Mhz, rocksolid, at 2.9v but when I tried 600 @ 3.0v, it fried. So, you'd better be carefull, and just an athlon cooler won't help ya there, trust me. Keep clocking alive Pim Brydon 02-23-2000, 07:15 PM Tried 600@2.9v and no go. I tried to run RC5 at 575 and after 5 mins it rebooted so I,ve gone back to 550 as it is 100% stable http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif alpha 02-25-2000, 04:50 AM I have my chip burning in at 550 and 2.5v. My machine actually stopped crashing when I removed rain! Brydon 02-25-2000, 08:57 PM I use rain and I've got to be honest and say that sometimes though only occasionally it does crash. I run my 450@550 24/7 with RC5 so I know itis rock solid http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif. I also had a friend round tonight and we played UT for about 4 hours with no probs on my home network http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif. SysOpt.com
