i just highlighted the WRONG folder and deleted about a gig of downloaded proggies...and it was too large for the R/bin.
i haven't overwritten or done anything to this drive since, so can someone help me get my stuff back?
(please don't make fun of me, i feel dumb enough already)

GO to www.ontrack.com and look around. I think i might remember a proggie that can do that. Otherwise, unless you had norton or something installed beforehand, i dont think so.

Augidog,
Hey check out Powerquest's "lost and Found" proggie! they have a solution for what u did! Good luck! (just got thru doing something kinda like you http://www.sysopt.com/forum/frown.gif ) just went thru and had to repartion my drives so i could dual boot with win98/ nt4.0 and thought i had moved a couple of directories to a different drive and lost about a months worth of downloads! so i feel for you!

see my email OR download NU3 and use their undelete feature for free (expect a 3-4 hour d/l)
If you do, might as well optimize your swap file while you are at it. if you set your swap in windows, then use the NU feature, it will permanently set your swap at the outer edge of your disk.

ahh! keep us posted AugiDog, let us know if it works.
the only other thing i can think of would be checking www.winfiles.com (http://www.winfiles.com) or some other such shareware site for a download that you could use... sorry, wish i could be of more help =-(

winfiles has always been one of my faves...that's where most of that lost software came from.
i'm gonna register Recover 4 All, it looks worth it (also from winfiles) http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif

socalgal-got your mail, major ISP problems, can't mail out.
i use NU 3 to optimize my swap, but the undelete won't find the files. Recover 4 All did, but i have to register to recover anything over 10k.
