I gust finished bilding my own pc at the begining of january then i was playing CM3 99/00 and bang the Bi*c* crashed so i shut it down but to my suprise she would not boot up again i keept geting A windows protection error and it told me HIMEM.SYS has gone missing so i used my boot disk and then it tells me my HDD is the an Invalid FAT system so i format it and start instaling windows 98 but the first time i restarted it HIMEM.SYS went missing once again whats went wrong.

Man, I don't know alot, however when I have some kind of problem like that...
Just the other day, on my daughter's brand new computer the keyboard started acting up and finally all the system would was grind. no beeps no startup. freaked me out. Got a new keyboard , inserted startup disc to get to DOS, typed "scanreg/restore" without the quotes, choose a previous registry and recovered my system. Then did diagnostics
with my Norton utilities. And all was as it was. Every time I screw up and download some
BS program or delete something I shouldn't I go back to a registry I know was working
and do a System check top to repair missing sectors or whatever. Maybe this might help.
