How do you set a 400 celeron chip to work at the 100 mhz bus of an asus p2b board???

Ahem,
as the new celeron 400 is locked ad 6x
(normally 6x66.6 MHz=400 MHz) it won't
be easy to get it to 100 MHz bus as
it would result in 600 MHz !!!
I got an ASUS P2B-F with a Celeron 400 in a
box running @450 MHz (6x75 MHz) and it rocks!
I'm running CPUIdle and the temperature measured does not go higher than 45 °C
Maybe you should try 75 and 83 MHz first !?

I've got a Celeron366 and an AsusP2B.
You can run your Celeron @100MHz.
You only have to isolate the Pin B21 on your CPU.
You can find an overclocking guide over at
Tom's Hardware.

Hi,

Can anybody guide me through what I can expect in terms of overclokcing an Asus P2B-DS with an Matrox G400 Max in the AGP slot. I use dual Celerons 500 now but plan to max out Coppermines later on. And yes I have Rev 1.06 and Bios 1.012 which allows just that.

1.What are the constraints I will meet first: mobo, matrox, cpu's, or ...HD's?
2. What steps to take in what order?

thx

hi elle,

just try it! go one step after the other and you will get more speed!

Got my 400@600 with 2.3v , so give it a try. Mine is week 39, the higher the week the better. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif
