Hello,

I'm running a PIII/600 CPU at standard speed and I was wondering what temps. other PIII/600 CPUs were running at. I'm using an Asus P3B-F Mobo. and according to the Motherboard Monitor software I am using the core temp. occasionally runs past 160F. I'm using the OEM version of the CPU with a heatsink and single CPU fan. According to the Intel website it can handle 85C but I just wanted to know if my CPU was in the normal range. Thank you!

I have a NEW PIII 500 on an Asus Mobo and I'm curious about the same thing. I have been told that the Temp eratures on this board are unreliable. I have been trying to get confirmation of this, but have not as of now.

My temperature(Uncocked) are 49Deg C or 120 deg F

Hope this helps. My system is only 2 weeks old!

Thanks guys! My PII/400 CPU in the same Mobo. ran at 120F core temp. Sandra will give me the same temp. as Mobo. Monitor but the voltage and fan readings are way off in this program! If I use the CPU Idle software the temp. will drop down to around 90F! The Asus probe software gives the same temp. reading as Motherboard Monitor. I have a total of seven fans in the machine (a PS fan, a fancard w/twin fans, twin HD fans, a case fan, and a CPU fan). Do you think I need a dual CPU fan setup?

I have p3 500@525 and TNT2@155/183 and the case temp is 94 and CPU 102. Sounds like you're getting a false reading or need another case fan?
