533Mhz celeron seems to be a top of celerons when using 66Mhz FSB. As far I know there are no mobos that support multiplier higher than 8 (or is it possible to run for example 566Mhz Celery with multiplier 8.5 on mobo that has only 8x multiplier?). Intel seems to like some locks on their CPUs... but what is the best solution for us - locked FSB or locked multiplier? Maybe 133Mhz FSB locked celeron is better choice than Celeron having a multiplier lock... AMD's CPUs can be configured in different ways (don't know about athlons), so why is Intel so sick

Intel has been locking their multipliers since August of 98. The only workaround is the fsb, voltage & cooling.

intel locked the multiplier so you couldnt over clock. but we are smarter than they are. they wanted you to but a celery 500 instead of a 366 and crank it up. it is the almighty dollar!

My GA-6BXE goes up to 9.5x multiplier so I am looking forward to the Celeron 627a lol http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif
