They better not go the way of the Intel and lock those babys... It seems a reasonable step IMO, but I dont think there is that much Athlon remarking going around. U-96 01-28-2000, 02:58 PM Mntsnow you are such a cynic! http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif Try www.theregister.co.uk/000127-000027.html (http://www.theregister.co.uk/000127-000027.html) instead! U-96 OuTpaTienT 01-28-2000, 03:24 PM Fine, screw you guys I'm going home. (he says with his best Cartman immitation) Barney 01-28-2000, 04:26 PM Your imitation of Cartman is good, but mine is better:Scr*w you guys!I'm going home, don't want to be late for...DINNER!!! About AMD,I don't want to choose between them because at the moment I have a AMD K6-2 333@400MHz at 2.6V and a PII 300MHz SL2W8 that goes EASILY 516MHz @ 2.0V (I haven't got the money to buy a new mobo yet,VA6 Abit).I tell this to show that I support both parties. But I really think AMD Athlon is better than PIII (Coppermine).I don't really know why,it just is. Ronald. Mntsnow 01-28-2000, 10:26 PM U-96...LOL But Hey I was only responding to what was POSTED! http://www.sysopt.com/forum/biggrin.gif I think that AMD is taking the right approach to the issue at hand. (OEM's providing a PRE-Overclocked system is wrong. It should be upto the end-user to VOID the warranty by overclocking the chip. Mntsnow Ygor 01-29-2000, 12:09 AM Hmmm, will jameswillamor post again with this in the news? oblivion 01-29-2000, 12:48 AM "It is quite ignorant indeed. It's called "starting s***" and being part of the rumor mill, but if you're proud to do it then what the hell." (qouting outpatitent from THIS THREAD. (http://www.sysopt.com/forum/Forum3/HTML/004186.html)) Hmm it looks like you have merely went back to the same "illicit" website I have showed you in my prior post on the subject and rehashed it making it all of a sudden a reputable source, just because they have shown an "alleged" letter from AMD. outpatient you are funny........... edit-spiling [This message has been edited by oblivion (edited 01-29-2000).] [This message has been edited by socalgal (edited 01-29-2000).] OuTpaTienT 01-29-2000, 08:16 AM what-ever deep_sky 01-30-2000, 12:50 AM hey hey hey...break it up...is this sort of infighting necessary....so outpatient posted a link.no need to go calling people names across the board...let us just drop and do what we do best..tweak the heck out of our boxes, and then talk about it here!! oblivion, still looking for some email from you on the status of our orb deal....l8ters...
